Man United are considering a late move for Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch in the summer transfer window.
That's not a judgement on the player himself because how can a player be judged when he hasn't even kicked a ball? But there lies the problem. United needed to recruit a proven goal scorer, a striker who could come in and make an immediate impact on a misfiring forward line.

United wanted Gravenberch a year ago when he was being spoken about in the same breath as Jude Bellingham but he opted for Germany. It has proven to be a wrong call. He has only had a bit-part role at the Allianz, started just six times last season and lost his space in the Netherlands squad as a result.
Maybe Gravenberch is worth a punt if the price is right. He was once one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in Europe and if one man can get him back to his best it's Ten Hag. But are United in a position to be taking more punts when what they are in need of is a sure bet?
