The victim, a man in his 20s from Nelson, suffered a fractured arm during the attack on Colne Road

The incident is said to have occurred in Colne Road at around 3.40pm on Thursday, June 1. Lancashire Constabulary said the victim, a man in his 20s from Nelson, suffered a fractured arm during the attack.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway. Officers have now issued a CCTV appeal to identify two men, including one carrying a plank of wood.In a statement on Facebook, Burnley and Padiham Police said: "Do you recognise these men? We want to speak to them after a man was assaulted in Colne Road, Burnley, at around 3.40pm on June 1.

"The victim, a man in his 20s from Nelson, suffered a fractured arm. No arrests have been made at this time. "We have made numerous enquiries to identify those responsible, and we now need to speak to the men in the CCTV still. "Anyone who knows who they are, or the men themselves, are asked to email 2396@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 919 of June 1, 2023."
