Cameron Hughes is charged with death by dangerous driving
Emergency services were called just after 7pm on July 7 after a Mercedes Sprinter van left the carriageway of the A56 slip road which leads on to the A679 Burnley Road. The van crashed through a metal barrier and down a steep ravine below.After an investigation by police, the van driver was charged. Cameron Hughes, 23, of Haddington Drive, Manchester, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He appeared before Preston Magistrates’ Court last Saturday and has been remanded to appear before Preston Crown Court on August 14. Police say they are still appealing for information about this. A spokesperson for the force said: "The 15-year-old female passenger, Bonny Rae Barrow, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital and later transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital where she very sadly died. Our thoughts remain with her family who are being supported by specially trained officers."Cameron Hughes, 23, of Haddington Drive, Manchester, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
