Police were called to the city centre last night.

Police were called to St Enoch Square on Sunday night. The alarm was raised just before 9pm.

A man, aged 39, was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Police confirmed that the man was seriously injured, his current medical condition is unknown.A probe has been launched into the incident. Anyone with information that could assist officers with their investigation is urged to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Live : "Around 8.50pm on Sunday, 13 August, police were called to a report of a man seriously assaulted in St Enoch Square, Glasgow. Officers attended and a 39-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. "Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 3755 of 13 August."
