Live: M6 southbound closed as emergency services rush to crash near Carlisle
The incident took place on the southbound carriageway at junction 42 at around 7.40am this morning .
Police say the collision involved two vehicles and emergency services are at the scene. Officers are urged motorists to use alternative routes and avoid the area where possible. Details of the collision or any injuries sustained have not yet been confirmed. We'll provide updates as we get them.said: "Emergency services are currently dealing with a two-vehicle collision on the M6 southbound carriageway, near Carlisle.
"Motorists are asked to seek alternative routes if possible as there may be delays. It happened between junction 42 and Southwaite services at about 7.40am."
