Singers Debbie Harry and David Bowie before his concert as part of The Reality Tour at the MEN Arena in Manchester in November 2003
Manchester had plenty going on in 2003 - from big sporting events to star-studded concerts. The MEN has unearthed a selection of photos taken across the city during this time, including a number of celebrity appearances. It was a year where many singers and bands performed in the city, such as David Bowie and Girls Aloud. The below images also show sporting stars in Manchester, including David Beckham and Ricky Hatton.
King Charles is also pictured visiting Manchester when he was the Prince of Wales, while other images show iconic Manchester places in 2003. This includes Piccadilly train station after it was modernised, and the lost Urbis Museum, now known as the National Football Museum.
