The family of Liam Smith have said they will 'always love him' in a heartfelt tribute given as his murderers received life sentences.
"I just don't know what is best and I feel lost. My eldest had so many wonderful memories of his dad. My youngest is very depressed and unable to leave my side." Liam's sister Gemma Smith gave a heartbreaking statement and told of how Liam was her 'rock', describing his death as 'inhumane'. Unless a loved one has been murdered you don't understand the magnitude of it. Another human is responsible for this level of devastation. Anger, contempt, hatred. The trial dragged on forever, going through details and information I would never wish to hear.
"We are completely broken by this senseless act," she added. "Liam was a devoted father who worked hard to give his boys the best possible future.
