The Gers defender has yet to play a single minute under Michael Beale this season and has been limited for opportunities having missed a large chunk of pre-season through injury.
Leon King is set to leave Rangers on loan before the end of the summer transfer window after a frustrating start to the new season, according to a report.
They added that King looks destined to be heading for either the Championship or League one south of the border in a bid to get back on track. With 23 appearances for the club last season, King enjoyed his best spell at Rangers under ex-manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst after an injury crisis in defence.
Opportunities have faded however under Beale, and he is now looking set to try and salvage his young career out on loan following his recovery.
