Arthur, 82, was hailed “simply the best” by judges as he was named the London Press Club Journalists’ Laureate 2022, honouring excellence in journalism.Credit: Paul Edwards, collected the accolade in front of a host of national newspaper editors and media executives past and present at the Grosvenor House hotel, Park Lane.
In a historic royal year, the judges said he was the stand-out candidate as he became only the fourth recipient of the award, after broadcasterLondon Press Club Ball chairmen Robert Jobson and Ray Massey said: “Arthur is simply the best. In newspapers, to steal his phrase, ‘sometimes it’s words, sometimes it’s pictures’.
