Rishi Sunak is setting out how he will address the dangers presented by artificial intelligence while harnessing the benefits
Mr Sunak said that his Government is planning to be part of a 'statement' on the 'nature' of the risk posed by AI. 'AI is developing at a breaktaking speed; every new wave will become more advanced. 'So we need to make sure that as the risks evolve, so does our shared understanding.
' He said in this the Government should take inspiration from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and so he is setting up a 'truly global expert panel' on AI. This will 'publish a state of AI science report'. He added that it is important to 'collaborate' with the companies developing AI as well, saying that he will work to 'deepen our partnerships' to make for a 'more international approach to safety'.
