There's black pudding, and then there's black pudding
A bar and bistro in Penrith that people 'cannot fault' has been rated the third best place to visit in the Lake District.It’s housed in a characterful Victorian building with a small, sheltered garden to the rear. Chef-patron Stephen Tierney has worked in hotels and restaurants in Scotland, London, Miami, Alaska and Australia and he draws on that experience to produce carefully cooked dishes based on the best local ingredients.
Taking to TripAdvisor people have branded the eatery 'outstanding' and 'beautiful'. One customer said they'd "come back just for the black pudding." One review said: "Lovely meal this evening, we didn’t need a pudding but we wanted one! Thank God we did, it was delicious! The whole meal was beautifully cooked, I had the beef which just fell apart, and hubby had the steak which he raved about. Fab service too."
