I spent £21 at Asda to make five family meals - the kids want this one every week

Everyone has their own favourite dish and with the price of food, we're having to consider the cost of ingredients more than ever. Then there's the time spent finding recipes and shopping for ingredients before you can even think about cooking the meals.

What makes it easier is that if you're shopping online, you can simply 'add ingredients' to your basket, so you don't have to go searching for different products. Plus the cooking method for each one is on there too. It does make it cheaper that the recipes use similar ingredients though, as overall there's less to buy - the ingredients for all five dishes came in at just £20.89.

We all enjoyed the chicken stew and rice, which costs around a fiver to feed four, but the favourite by far was the tuna and tomato pasta.
