A new baker has left GBBO after Custard Week
The Great British Bake Off fans waved goodbye to Kevin on Tuesday after he failed to impress during Custard Week.
“What I will take away from my experience on Bake Off is a good story to tell in 10 years. And a ragtag group of friends for life.”The seventh episode of this year’s series saw the contestants tackle the first ever Custard Week, beginning with the bakers having to make their own ‘Floating Islands’ for the Signature Challenge.
Abdul received rave reviews for his “absolutely delicious” floating island, but on the other end of things, Kevin’s meringue had disintegrated in the prosecco and failed to impress.It came with a twist that saw staggered start times for each contestant, which Prue and Paul saying it was to make their judging fairer - assumedly so they wouldn’t be dealing with a puddle of melted ice-cream when they got to the last contestant.
