The former Rovers man has been impressed by his old club so far

Former Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel believes his old club are not far away from having a squad that can push for the play-offs.

He watched Dilan Markanday and Harry Leonard score the goals as Jon Dahl Tomasson's men got up and running with a 2-1 win. That was followed by a point at Rotherham United last weekend. Friedel has been massively encouraged by what he's seen from Rovers, having gone into the season with a little bit of worry for his former side."I would love to see Blackburn Rovers back in the Premier League," he told Ladbrokes Fanzone.

"You'd always like to get three points away from home, but they drew against Rotherham last time out. I think the play-offs are a realistic goal for this team. I think they need a few more assured goals in that team.
