The store has been given a facelift
Manchester's flagship HMV store has reopened in the Arndale. The popular music retail store had been closed for just over a month for a refit.
The iconic channel letters of 'HMV' have been removed for an updated modern take on the logo which features a black background and the words 'The HMV Shop EST.1921' cut out and brightly lit by white neon lights. The famous dog listening to his master's voice makes an appearance on the logo, paying homage to the canine inspiration of the store.
HMV was founded in 1921 with the opening of its landmark store in London's Oxford Street. The Arndale unit is the last remaining HMV store in the city centre, which used to boast four.
