Two people have died so far as Storm Babet blasts the UK, with Scotland's north-east being hit with the worst of the weather.
A Fiat 500 driver and passenger were left stranded after the car got stuck on a flooded road. Storm Babet has been battering the north-east of Scotland since yesterday and its torrential rain is now affecting parts of England.
On Neston Road, a Liverpool ECHO photographer had to help the stricken motorists by pushing the Fiat off the road after it became trapped in rainwater. Regions within the warning zones face a danger to life from floodwater, extensive flooding to homes and businesses, and major travel disruption. The body of a 57-year-old woman was recovered from the Water of Lee in Glenesk, north of Brechin on Thursday afternoon following reports that she had been swept away. And a 56-year-old man was killed after a falling tree hit a van on a road near Forfar on Thursday evening.
