One councillor described Rattray Common as looking like 'an absolute eyesore'
Fed up Blairgowrie residents cut Rattray Common themselves after Perth and Kinross Council took an unpopular "no mow" approach to the grassland.
The idea was to increase biodiversity but a Blairgowrie councillor has said Rattray Common ended up just looking "an absolute eyesore". Their request was rejected with councillors voting by seven votes to four to continue with the "no mow" approach. Cllr Shiers told the LDRS: "Rattray Common has been an absolute eyesore. Residents resorted to cutting it themselves."She said: "The maintenance issues at Rattray Common this year have been far worse than previous years.
