It is an incurable disease which poses a range of debilitating symptom

Sitting for more than 10 hours a day could raise the risk of dementia, a new study has found. The condition has been linked to those who live a sedentary lifestyle, in which a person sits or lies down for at least six hours a day, Daily Record reports.

"Many of us are familiar with the common advice to break up long periods of sitting by getting up every 30 minutes or so to stand or walk around," said study author Professor David Raichlen. Data compiled from the devices was able to discern between necessary sedentary activity like sleeping and excess such as sitting. This combined with advanced computing techniques provided researchers with an objective measure of the time spent engaging in different types of sedentary behaviours.
