'People always describe the procession as magical and it is a sight to be seen'
This year’s four free workshops, all held at Globe Studios, Toll Bar Mill, Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, have been very well attended, including one when several members of Rossendale Drum Majorettes came along. The final free lantern making workshop was held last weekend, ahead of Stacksteads Lantern Procession.
“People always describe the procession as magical and it is a sight to be seen as hundreds of people who attend carry their lanterns along the riverside path passing many illuminated creatures and installations which line the route. This year’s free festival was supported by Crowdfund Lancashire after SCPG received 33 backers including donation from many individuals and larger grants of £1,000 each from Grantscape and Bacup Cultural Consortium along with £500 each from Lancashire County Council’s Older and Younger People’s Champions.
