Residents were evacuated as they were severely hit by flooding.
Floods have battered Nottinghamshire after Storm Babet hit the county - and families on a street in Hucknall have been left heartbroken after floodwater gushed down their street and into their homes. On Friday, October 20, water ripped its way down Greenwood Court, Hucknall, through to Greenwood Avenue where residents were evacuated and houses were left damaged.
Also evacuated, from their home were Josephine, 80, and Bob Garlik, 84, who went into a ‘panic’ as the water entered a bedroom in their bungalow on Greenwood Court.“I’ve never seen anything like that ever, it was rushing. It was like a river, a strong river running down. The cars were covered to the top.
Her husband, Bob added: “It flooded our backyard completely, water was running through. It was rushing down the road, it was like a stream.” Sarah Pascoe was at work in Aspley when the flood hit her home, her daughter was at home calling her to get back. She was aware of what was happening in the area as she had seen the flooding on Facebook.
