The former defender in Glasgow had some words of encouragement for the new recruit at the Dons.
The defender has revealed the former Celtic star was a big influence on his loan switch from Midtjylland. They paired up in their time in Denmark and he turned to the Houston Dynamo defender when Barry Robson came calling on the last day of the transfer window. Gartenmann said: “He told me great things about Scottish football. We are the same type of players, so I hope I can fit in as well as he did. He told me Aberdeen was a good club.
“Frankfurt are a top team and they were panicking a bit at the end. We had the momentum in the last 15 to 20 minutes. We can be really proud of our performance.” The Dane knows Aberdeen took a lot of praise for their performance but now they must translate it into points, starting with tomorrow’s home clash with Ross County and the Viaplay Cup return in Dingwall.
