Emmerdale actor James Hooton says the Dingles will take centre stage in a week of special flashback episodes as Lydia questions them in a bid to identify Craig’s killer
Sam Dingle is the steady, reliable backbone of the Dingle family. However, after finding out about his wife Lydia’s rape at the hands of Craig, Sam’s kind-hearted ways may have ended.
“There’s a court of 12 angry Dingles in the pub,” says James. “And Lydia wants to get to the bottom of who killed Craig. " Each Dingle is asked to prove their innocence by explaining their whereabouts on the night of Craig’s death, but not all of them are telling the truth. For all 12 actors, it was seven days of filming for the ‘Dingle court’ where the on-screen family take the law into their own hands – some Dingles over the years have even been exiled from the village as a result.
