One onlooker said the scene in Blackpool was like 'Hill Street Blues'

There was a huge emergency service presence on a Blackpool street on Wednesday night following reports of an electrical fire. Onlookers reported seeing several police cars and fire engines on Charnley Road.

Firefighters are understood to have been called out at around 7pm. One onlooker said the scene was like "Hill Street Blues" as emergency service vehicles lined the street. Other witnesses at the scene said they were told there had been an electrical fire at a hotel on the street, although this has not yet been confirmed. Photos show firefighters entering the Alviston Hotel.

Photos from Charnley Road show the area sealed off by police. Ambulances were also spotted in the street.
