Economic confidence in Burnley is growing as the town looks to cash in on its strategic position
Strategically situated close to the M65 and M66 Burnley is the ideal location for industrial and residential development.
The £50m Burnley Bridge South site is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs and is the latest development on the site. The neighbouring Titanium Park, which Monte Blackburn also owns, has already welcomed companies such as Exertis, Fagan & Whalley, Birchalls and Townsend Music.
Entrepreneurship is also blossoming in Burnley with expansion plans for a hog roast company. Although fears had been raised about the potential for cooking odours to affect local residents The Spitting Pig Company Ltd’s planning application to convert The Rookery, in Burnley’s Pasturegate, into a training centre has been approved this week.
Earlier this week a national brand unveiled plans to open a coffee shop with a drive-thru close to Burnley town centre - but its identity is yet to be confirmed. The new premises will occupy the site of a vacant shop known as Adlington House on Adlington Street which will be knocked down.
