The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where a chairlift cable has snapped with children and adults inside An urgent rescue effort is underway as eight children and two adults are trapped in a chairlift dangling 1,200 feet above a mountainous region of Pakistan.

The children were travelling to school in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on the chairlift – which connects to communities in the region – when one of its cables snapped at 9am local time ,Tanveer Ur Rehman, a local Battagram district official, told the broadcaster a helicopter was helping with the rescue.“Rescue efforts are impossible without a helicopter, and experienced rescue officials are needed to ensure the rescue goes smoothly.
