Those heading to the US should be aware of vibrio vulnificus, with the bacteria sparking warnings against swimming in the sea and eating shellfish.
Anyone heading to the USA is being issued a warning as eight people have now died from a flesh-eating bacteria.
Experts are currently hunting the source of the recent deaths. The US Department of Public Health revealed that three people, one from Connecticut, were hospitalised last month after consuming raw oysters. The shellfish were consumed outside the state. The governor urged New Yorkers and those visiting to stay vigilant and take precautions to keep themselves and loved ones safe.
