Mitchell Rooney and Michael Blues have the Jags firing in the West of Scotland Fourth Division
East Kilbride Thistle boss Aaron Connolly believes a friendly rivalry between hot-shots Mitchell Rooney and Michael Blues is driving the Jags to their stunning scoring spree at the Showpark.
Connolly believes the duo are bringing out the best in each other, with Rooney hitting seven goals in six games and Blues notching six in six.“The two of them have started the season flying and I am delighted for them both. “They have both set each other up a lot of the time as well so there is a great relationship forming there in the forward areas.
He added: “It’s really important to feel comfortable in your own environment and we understand when we turn up to play at home, we need to win as many games as possible at the Showpark.“We scored six again on Saturday and that’s two home games in a row now as well, so it’s a huge positive. “We’ve not won away from home yet this season so that is something we need to look at and try to improve,” Connolly confessed.
