UPDATE: 19-year-old man charged over axe attack in east Belfast is remanded in custody
A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody after a man was hit in the face with an axe.
Nathan Simpson, of University Street in south Belfast, is charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.A man in his 50s was left with life-altering injuries, police have said.A 22-year-old who was also arrested following the incident has been released on police bail.
