The colder months will soon be arriving
and the experts from LeaseCar.uk have claimed many motorists will be forced to leave their vehicles off the roads due to the continuing cost of living crisis. People across the UK will be feeling the pinch over the coming months as the price of petrol and energy bills remains sky high.
Motorists only need to do a SORN once, and the notification will be automatically overturned if the vehicle is taxed again. The government assumes cars are on UK roads unless they are SORN and therefore require them to be taxed. This SORN is needed to avoid fines, which can be issued if a camera or the police spots the car on the road when it's not covered by road tax. The DVLA then cross references the national insurance database with road tax expiration dates to know which vehicles are covered by tax.
