Residents feared their tiny village could be 'destroyed' by the 150 house scheme
Developers behind a controversial Sefton housing scheme have been told to down tools by the local authority after complaints from residents.
The decision taken by the borough’s planning committee came despite over 130 objections raised and two separate petitions amid concerns the scale of the development could “destroy” the tiny, quiet village. A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: “We have instructed that development work at Wadacre Farm in Melling be postponed until further notice.
