Developers have drawn up further plans for student accommodation in the Merchant City area after abandoning plans for a 12-storey hotel due the 'changing needs' of the city.
The latest proposal will feature in the regeneration of the St Enoch area with developers previously given permission for a 12-storey hotel at Old Wynd Street and Osborne Street.
We previously reported how plans for a hotel on the former The Iron Horse and O Sole Mio site have also been scrapped due to a 'lack of developer interest'. A public consultation on the plans has been launched with developers stating that there has been a 'lack of developer interest in delivering a hotel in this location'.
