A fire engulfed the restaurant and Grade II listed cinema in Littlehampton, West Sussex, in August.

By Christian FullerThe demolition of the remains of a Harvester restaurant that burnt down in Littlehampton, West Sussex, has begun.

A large blaze engulfed the restaurant and the Grade II listed Windmill Cinema in Coastguard Road on 10 August. Harvester operators Mitchell and Butler have appointed contractors to carry out the demolition work, Arun District Council said.Large plumes of smoke were seen billowing over the Harvester restaurantand quickly spread to the roof.

Twelve fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms were used at the peak of the fire, with crews from East and West Sussex taking part.
