Cost of living payment of £324 to be made to more than a million families from tomorrow
More than a million families are set to get a welcome cash boost with the next £324 cost of living payment.
People who claim tax credits in the UK will get their second cost of living payment - worth £324 - from tomorrow, November 23. More than a million families get the payments and will receive the extra cash to help with the rising cost of living with those on Universal Credit or Pension Credit having already received theirs, Wales Online reports.
The first payment was made in the summer, and this money is designed to help with rising energy and food bills. The money will go straight into the account where your tax credits appear between November 23 and November 30.Angela MacDonald, HMRC's Deputy Chief Executive and Second Permanent Secretary, said: "This second Cost of Living Payment will provide further financial support to eligible tax credit-only claimants across the UK.
In total, more than eight million homes will get a payment this month. The government has announced further Cost of Living Payments of up to £900 for people on an eligible low income benefit, £300 for pensioner households and £150 for people on an eligible disability benefit. The guidance will be updated when more details have been announced, including the qualifying dates and payment dates.
