Tenacious teenager Gauff is likely to join US compatriot Jessica Pegula at the prestigious event, when thrills, spills and hard sweat will adorn the hard courts at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. The Florida-based ace originally burst onto the scene at 2019 Wimbledon as a 15-year-old qualifier, to stun US icon Venus Williams on Centre Court at the All England Club.
Swiatek, who took over as world no.1 in April during her remarkable 37-match winning streak from February to July, has already amassed a trio of Grand Slam titles. Her unbeaten run resulted in six titles on the spin, which culminated in lifting the French Open at Roland Garros. The 21-year-old has since captured the US Open crown, which has sent out a warning shot that she is determined to maintain the coveted no.1 ranking.
