The Smallest Things has been campaigning for legislative change on neonatal care is now urging the local authority to extend parental leave to parents and carers of premature babies.
West Dunbartonshire Council is being encouraged to sign up to The Smallest Things 'employer with a heart' charter and provide extra support to parents with babies in neonatal care.

Ms Ogilvy added: “That is why The Smallest Things continue to urge employers including local governments to make a change now and to join employers from across the UK, such as Nationwide Building Society and Newcastle University, Sony Music UK and South Ayrshire Council who have already taken steps to become Employers with Heart, supporting parents through the trauma of neonatal care and beyond.”
