'It is shocking really, as Ormskirk is such a lovely little town'
A bouncer in Ormskirk has spoken of his shock after describing how youths were seen "brazenly brandishing a knife" during an incident last night.
The "isolated incident" happened close to where Matthew Daulby, 19, was fatally stabbed on July 29. Lancashire Police say the woman's injuries were not life-threatening and that both parties were "known to each other".Two 16-year-old boys, from Skelmersdale, have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. They remain in custody for questioning today.
He added that the town centre has appeared "quieter" since Mr Daulby's death and that he hopes this latest incident will not put people off heading into Ormskirk for a night out. Anthony says most customers "understand" this new policy but that his staff have been given "aggro" from a select few. He added: "Most people are happy to be searched and happy for us to be throughout. It his a kind of reassurance and helps them feel safe."
