It comes just weeks after Matthew Daulby, 19, died following a separate stabbing incident on Railway Road in Ormskirk town centre
Lancashire Police and paramedics rushed to the town centre on Friday evening following reports that woman had suffered an injury to her arm in Railway Road. The incident happened shortly after 6pm and she was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers say her injuries are thankfully not life-threatening. Two 16-year-old boys from Skelmersdale have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remain in custody for questioning.It comes just weeks after Matthew Daulby, 19, died following a separate stabbing incident on Railway Road. Police bosses said 'given previous significant incidents in the town centre' they are stepping up patrols in the area over the weekend as a precaution.
A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "You may be aware of an incident which happened in Ormskirk town centre yesterday evening and we just wanted to tell you what we have done about it. We were called at 6.05pm to reports a woman had suffered a slash injury to her arm in Railway Road. "She was taken to hospital, but thankfully her injuries are not life-threatening. Following enquiries two 16-year-old boys from Skelmersdale have been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault and remain in custody.
"This is being treated as an isolated incident between parties known to each other. We appreciate there will be some community concern, given previous significant incidents in the town centre and we plan to have an increased presence in the area over the weekend as a precaution.
