Sharon says her family has been particularly impacted by the illness
A Belfast woman has spoken about her battle with breast cancer at the same time as she lost her husband to cancer as well.
“It was the previous August when we found out about his tumour, and I had been diagnosed with breast cancer just a month before that.“I finished my treatment last May and I’m still in recovery and I’m on a drug to prevent the cancer coming back, because there was a bit of damage done to my left lung through the radiotherapy.”
On Friends of the Cancer Centre, Sharon says they helped her and has seen the impact of their work on others as well.
