“Things are awful at the minute in 21st century Britain.”
Asda has been accused of “bullying staff” that speak out over pay disputes by union reps. They demanded an extra 40p an hour and 20% store discount to keep up with the cost-of-living crisis.
It comes after some staff wore red badges that state “Asda rolling back on workers' wages, GMB union members want a pay rise!”GMB also claimed that supermarket bosses warned they would be watching the social media profiles of employees in case they spoke out about wages. GMB representative Bob Deavy told the Glasgow Times: “GMB have been made aware of a bulletin being passed about staff that basically threaten staff who have been wearing badges.“It can lead to formal action up to and including dismissal, the badges just say pay your workers fairly.“If staff post anything about the protests on social media Asda investigate will also them. This is disappointing. We want to work with the company in talks.pandemic.
“We have a policy on badges which is clear that they should not wear non-Asda symbols or emblems whilst at work.
