Nottinghamshire Police revealed that there have been ‘dramatic’ reductions in burglary, antisocial behaviour, and vehicle thefts in some areas of the city.
Neighbours in part of Nottingham have expressed relief after a reduction in crime across the city. In Radford and The Park estate, the number of burglaries has gone down dramatically after the police carried out the Safer Streets project in the city.
Neighbours in The Park have said they are 'glad' the Safer Streets interventions have gone in the 'right direction'. Chelsey Carter expressed relief at the statistics about The Park. The 31-year-old said: “I think it’s good to know that it’s been reduced, not just here but across the city. You often hear about a lot of crime at the moment.
“It’s really interesting what you say about The Park, I wonder if they have patrols at night. I’m glad it’s going in the right direction if it is causing it to calm down.” Chief Inspector Chris Pearson said: “While these figures are just a snapshot, they are very promising and show the work we are putting in place to ensure criminals are struggling to make a living through crime in these five areas of the city.
