Alerts are in place affecting Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Accrington, Whalley, Clitheroe, Fleetwood and Brierfield
Flood warnings and alerts have been issued across Lancashire as torrential rain continues to batter the region.
The Environment Agency has issued four flood warnings for Samlesbury, Walton-le-Dale, Brierfield and Nelson while there are also five other flood alerts for Little Eccleston, Catterall, Preston, Padiham and Bolton-by-Bowland. Flooding has resulted in 'dangerous road conditions' and forced the closure of at least three schools in the county.
More heavy rain is expected until 12pm on Friday morning , according to the Met Office.
