Rangers' record European goalscorer has been on the hunt for his next team since May.
Relieved Alfredo Morelos has finally ended his three-continent search for a new club as he gets set to sign for Santos.
Rangers' record European goalscorer has been on the hunt for his next team since May and he will now join Brazilian heavyweights Santos on a two-and-a-half year deal on Monday. The Colombia international has been in talks over the move in recent weeks after he missed out on a move to Fenerbahce. Morelos' agent previously revealed El Bufalo had suitors in Spain, Russia and the Middle East but securing a signature with one of his many admirers proved elusive.
But Santos have their man and the move has been made possible by Neymar's switch to Al-Hilal with the Brazilian landing his first club a sizeable fee due to a cast-iron agreement in his contract. That landed them a solidarity payment of around £3million for their homegrown superstar. And now Santos have made their move for the 27-year-old who will be hell-bent to made his torrid final season at Ibrox behind him. Morelos was beloved in Glasgow but was reduced to a peripheral figure amid criticisms over his physical condition from pundits and punters.
But he has a chance to now reignite a career which once saw him revered in Glasgow following his move from HJK Helsinki in 2017.
