Francisco Suarez-Hughes struck Angela Marshall, 55, just a short distance from her front door in Rutherglen on January 13 2022.
The self-employed plumber is now behind bars after he pleaded guilty on Monday to causing Angela's death by dangerous driving.The fatal collision occurred in Croftfoot Road in Rutherglen around 6.20pm that night. Prosecutor Eric Robertson told the High Court in Glasgow:"Angela Marshall began to cross the road towards her home."As she was crossing, he struck her with his vehicle. The impact caused her to be thrown."
Other witnesses also helped Angela including an off-duty nurse, who happened to be a neighbour of Suarez-Hughes.Angela did not recover despite attempts to save her at the scene. The court heard she suffered"multiple injuries".
