The footage was taken by the council's Beach Patrol team on Thursday . The dolphins were heading north when they were seen jumping out of the water.
It comes after several days of warmed weather and calmer tides on the seafront. A pod of dolphins were seen on the Blackpool shores in June last year while two Bottle-Nosed Dolphin adults and a calf were seen passing Ainsdale beach in August 2022.In a video post on Facebook yesterday, Blackpool Council said: "DOLPHINS SPOTTED.
"Did you manage to capture any footage of them? Send any photos / videos our way, we'd love to see them." One person commented: "Typical. Didn't see any out yesterday when I was out. Always seem to miss them."A third person replied: "There’s at least 2 I can see probs more with the waves moving the way they are."
