Gangs of youths in Merseyside engaged in anti-social behavior, including throwing missiles at buses, smashing car windows, and lighting fireworks. Bus services were cancelled or diverted due to safety concerns. The bus company warns that services may be suspended until November 1 due to vehicle damage.

Parts of Merseyside are recovering today after gangs of youths struck creating anti social behaviour, throwing missiles at buses, smashing car windows and lighting fireworks. In one of many incidents, Helen Thomas, said she was just getting off the bus when a window was smashed behind her.READ MORE: Ashley Dale murder trial evidence to begin again today

Around 16 different Arriva and Stagecoach bus services, in areas such as Garston Village, Tower Hill, Northwood and the Leasowe Estate, were either cancelled or diverted last night due to anti social behaviour, kids throwing missiles or damage to bus stops. Both bus companies said routes were changed due to drivers and passengers not being "safe."

Throughout the evening people shared the worrying cases of anti social behaviour happening in their areas. Bus passenger Susan Hoare said: "Just been on the 12 in West Derby that had bricks thrown at it - glass smashing all over a 77 year old man."Vera Yorke said: "The number 10 in Knotty Ash was damaged by a brick going through the bus window. hit my friends husband in the face, causing bruising and shattered glass over babies prams. It's time parents had them under control.
