The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday
Merseyside Police has released a CCTV image of a man who may have information to assist ongoing enquiries following a report of a serious sexual offence on Fleet Street in the city centre. The police received reports of the offence at around 6.30am on Saturday, August 26.
"We think the man pictured may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward as soon as possible. If you recognise him, or this image jogs your memory about any suspicious behaviour you may have seen when out on Fleet Street on Saturday night please do let us know.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson added: "To report a sexual offence call 101 where you will be spoken to by specially trained officers or you can pass information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. If you’ve been affected by sexual violence of any kind, support is available through the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Victim Care Merseyside service delivered jointly by two registered charities.
