The death brings to 46 the number of people who have lost their lives on Northern Ireland's roads in 2023.

Emergency diversions attended the scene early this morning and and diversions are in place with motorists advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route for their journeys. A NIAS spokesperson said earlier: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 6:02 on Thursday, 17 August following reports of an RTC on Blackpark Road Area, Toombridge."Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Antrim Area Hospital Hospital by Ambulance."
