Dr Sean McMahon reportedly collapsed and became unresponsive on Tuesday evening. He tragically died before marrying his partner Debbie Jameson, in a ceremony that was due to take place today.
A young doctor died just three days before he was due to marry his partner, after becoming unwell and collapsing at a leisure centre.
Tributes have come flooding in for the Belfast healthcare worker, described as “a highly respected and valued member of the anaesthetic team in the Trust, working in the locality which he knew so well and had settled in.” Hundreds of people, including many of Dr McMahon’s work colleagues, have also been sharing their heartbreak and shock at his sudden passing, describing him "as the smartest most caring doctor who was always putting others before himself".

Newry Mourne & Down Sinn Fein Cllr Áine Quinn said the community of Cullyhanna and wider South Armagh were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Dr McMahon.The Slieve Gullion representative added: "Both Sean and his family are very well respected locally, with Sean’s work as a doctor a point of pride.
