Poor defending and a worrying tendency to lose the ball in dangerous positions means Foster has been far from to blame for such a high number. For a start, he helped secure a point from the 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon by saving a second half penalty. But he has decided to once again step away from the game, having previously hung up his gloves in September last year after leaving Watford in the summer and then turning down a contract at Newcastle United.

Foster will now be able to focus full-time on his burgeoning social media career. He has a YouTube channel – The Cycling GK – and his matchday Vlogs during Wrexham’s run-in last season, including footage from a Go-Pro camera in the back of the goal, became required viewing. This season, however, those matchday videos have been absent.
