57 homes will be available for rent and the remainder sold for shared ownership
Work has started on 82 affordable houses and flats on the former Virgin Media offices site, off Daleside Road, between Sneinton and Colwick. Affordable housing provider NCHA is working in partnership with GEDA construction, Nottingham City Council and Homes England.
The development will offer a mix of one-bed flats, and two and three-bedroom family homes, to support the housing need of the area. 57 homes will be available for affordable rent and 25 sold for shared ownership. The new homes have been designed by NCHA’s in-house architects, Pelham, and will be built to energy rating B.
“NCHA are a key delivery partner for affordable housing in Nottingham and is part of the city’s Homelink Partnership which means that the rent on affordable homes being built on this site will be available for people on the council’s housing waiting list.” Colm McVeigh, Associate Director at GEDA said: “GEDA is delighted to be delivering this project with NCHA. It is great to finally make a start on this scheme. This is a challenging and exciting project and we are looking forward to delivering 82 much-needed affordable properties for the local community.
